The 2022-23 Premier League season is almost over. It’s about time they create their Fantasy Premier League (FPL) team or at least prepare a concept. The FPL craze is real, and every year this number continues to grow. Once you get into it, FPL can be very addictive.
If you are new to FPL and not sure how to team up or not sure when to use the chips; don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place.
Here are some tips, tricks, dos/don’ts, and a few guidelines to follow when it comes to building your team.
How do I select players for my FPL team?
First things first. If this is new to you, your very first question will be, “Okay, I’ve signed up, read the rules, ready to play, but wait, who should I select for my team?”
At the beginning of the season we have the least information available. In addition, the transfer window is still open.
It’s safe to say that this is the worst time to take risks. You don’t want to do anything unusual. It’s time to stick to the basics. This means selecting the players who are 100% sure to start, looking at those players’ FPL history and also keeping an eye on the match list; at least for the first few weeks of play.

You don’t want to have a setback so early in the season that you start playing with your friends from the start.
Another advice is to choose players who can earn multiple points. For example, if you select your defense you want players to play for teams that concede less, meaning more zeros, but also players who score goals / provide assists – like fullbacks.
Select players who take penalties, take set pieces, score and provide assists at the same time. This is the easiest way to get maximum returns from a single player.
</strong> We can switch once a week for free. If you make more than one transfer, you will be penalized four points. Is it worth doing that extra transfer? Will it pay off? This is up to you to decide. Avoid unnecessary transfers as much as possible.</p>
<p><strong>8)</strong> Set reminders for each game week. You may want to wait as long as possible to make transfers, but not long enough before the deadline has passed. An alarm on your phone seems to be the best way to prevent this.</p>
<p><strong>9)</strong> Statistics are important when it comes to FPL, especially the xG stats. The expected target stats aren’t perfect, but they’re the closest at the moment.</p>
<p><strong>10)</strong> Don’t be influenced by teams you see online – their players, their choice of captain, their strategy. They are usually miracles of a week and fade quickly. Stick to the basics.</p>

<p>Ultimately, FPL is nothing more than a game that you can play with your friends. Yes, people spend hours and hours coming up with their perfect team, their formation, looking at the playlist and it can be very addictive.</p>
<p>It definitely makes watching the matches more interesting/stressful as you might see it.</p>
<p>If you are a beginner, play the game with your friends, have a laugh when you meet and discuss how a certain player saved your game week, but never reveal your strategy. It may be a game, but you play to win (well, at least your mini-league). Give it a try and you’ll be hooked in no time.</p>
